A question from Rob Wilkins < Go back to ask a question

At the moment I'd say I'm closer to being a current 'elite' worker, however in the past I have had thoughts about a change of career. With all the training etc required, will a restart to my career place me at risk of falling into the 'excluded' category?

As with any decision to retrain, I would recommend that you explore the potential market for your future career. Is there a market for the skills you will gain through re-training and therefore a sustainable future? The vision for 2020 suggests that the elite worker will be highly skilled and in respect to re-training this could actually take you further into this category, depending on your choice. For anyone managing their career it’s important to make decisions in relation to a number of factors including: what you value, where your strengths lie and where the potential market is heading.
